Zoey's been saying "ba ba ba" lately, her first word! I'm so happy, that's Chinese for "Daddy"!
I've started feeding her Gerber Puffs cereal snack. It's for infants to learn fine motor skills and learn how to start eating solids. I tried a few of course before I let her have any and they pretty much dissolve in the mouth immediately (no choking hazard).
Zoey doesn't have any teeth yet. I'm a bit surprised. I'm not going to worry about it, but her big brother did start getting teeth at 6 months. In the meantime, she's perfectly happy to "gum" away at the Gerber Puffs cereal. At least she's learning chewing motion with the jaw, even though she doesn't have any teeth yet.
It's funny, she really does like to eat. After I put a few of the Gerber Puffs cereal in her mouth, when I held out one piece for her to see if she could pick it up with her fingers, she made a 2 armed hugging grab motion to try to get it and pitched forward.
She does stare enviously at all the grownups and her big brother whenever we're eating anything.
